DUBAI – United Arab Emirates is home to over 1.5 million Pakistanis as nationals from Asian nation contribute to various sectors of the economy. Pakistanis are among the largest expatriate communities in the Gulf nation.
Under the current circumstances, a large number of Pakistanis, especially youth, are looking to move Dubai and other regions in search of employment and other opportunities.
Lately, social media sites have been abuzz with different speculations claiming that the UAE stopped issuing visas to single Pakistani nationals under the age of 42. The new reports baffled travelers who are looking to move to the UAE.
A post shared on social media claimed that United Arab Emirates stopped issuing visas to single Pakistani men under age of 42 and it mentioned that no formal announcement was made.
As social media posts went viral, other people also took to social platforms and shared similar post regarding visa restrictions for Pakistanis.
Amid the buzz, it turned out that viral tweet was fake, and was shared to spread disarray among people.
Let it be known that UAE has not made any such announcement and issuance of visas has not been halted. Furthermore, there is no ban on visit or work visas for single Pakistani men under the age of 42 traveling to Dubai.
It is not the first time that such fake news surfaced online. Similar rumors claimed that UAE stopped issuing visit visas to residents of several Pakistani cities. Some local travel agents even confirmed these reports without proper verification or an official statement from the authorities.
In previous months, Ministry of Foreign Affairs also turned down specific ban by Gulf nation on issuing visas to Pakistanis from certain cities.
