Pop icon Taylor Swift sent Swifties into a frenzy on Tuesday, June 18th, during her Cardiff concert by performing a mashup of two diss tracks, “I Forgot That You Existed” and “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.”
The performance, which included Swift breaking out into laughter while singing about forgiveness, was widely interpreted as a dig at her longtime nemesis, Scooter Braun, whose birthday coincided with the concert.
Fans quickly took to social media, speculating that the mashup was a direct response to Braun’s recent announcement of retirement from music management.
The feud between Swift and Braun dates back to 2019 when Braun’s company, HYBE, acquired Big Machine Label Group, which owned the master rights to Swift’s first six albums.
Swift has been vocal about her disapproval of Braun’s actions, accusing him of “incessant, manipulative bullying” and vowing to re-record her albums.
In response, Braun claimed he had attempted to find a solution with Swift but was frustrated by her accusations.
