Sindh postpones intermediate exams due to heatwave

KARACHI – Intermediate examinations have been postponed across Sindh due to the severe heatwave.

On the recommendation of Minister for Universities and Boards Mohammad Ali Malkani, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah approved the postponement of intermediate examinations.

The Universities and Board have accordingly issued the notification. The intermediate examinations, which were scheduled to start on May 22, will now begin on May 27.

It is to be noted that the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heatwaves across Sindh from May 21 to May 27. Day temperatures will likely remain 04 to 06 degrees Celsius above normal levels in Karachi and most parts of Sindh from May 21 to May 23. Heatwaves will likely intensify across Sindh with 06-08 C above normal temperatures from May 23 to May 27.
