KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah unveiled Rs3.056 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, stressing major raise in development spending and proposing salary raises by up to 30 per cent.
Sindh budget 2024-25 allocates Rs959 billion for development projects, highlighting a focus on infrastructure and social services. Revenue projections exceed Rs3 trillion, with 62 pc from federal transfers and 22 percent from provincial receipts.
Other revenue sources include capital receipts, foreign project assistance, and grants. Key sector allocations include Rs519 billion for education, Rs334 billion for healthcare, and Rs329 billion for local government.
Social protection initiatives include Rs34.9 billion for pro-poor programs and Rs116 billion in subsidies. The budget underscores a comprehensive approach to development, welfare, and economic recovery, reflecting the government’s commitment to citizens’ well-being.
