In a recent interview with The New York Times, actor Sean Penn addressed long-standing rumors about his marriage to pop star Madonna, denying accusations of physical abuse.

Penn recalled a SWAT team raiding his house due to a false report, highlighting the chaotic nature of their relationship.

Despite their turbulent past, Penn expressed fondness for Madonna, calling her “someone I love.” He also reflected on the challenges of repairing friendships after divorce, particularly when children are involved.

The couple’s four-year marriage was marred by allegations of domestic violence, including claims that Penn struck Madonna with a baseball bat. However, Madonna has consistently denied these allegations, affirming in a 2015 statement that Penn never physically assaulted her.

Penn’s denial comes in the context of a previous defamation lawsuit against Lee Daniels, who referenced Penn while discussing domestic violence in Hollywood. The lawsuit was settled, with Daniels issuing a public apology and contributing to Penn’s non-profit organization, CORE.

Penn, now divorced from his third wife, Leila George, expressed contentment with his current single status, emphasizing his desire for freedom and emotional well-being in any future relationship.
