Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has called on citizens to observe the Zilhaj moon and submit testimonies if sighted.
According to Saudi media, the Supreme Court’s statement mentioned that today marks the 29th of Dhu al-Qi’dah, and there is a possibility of sighting the new moon of the Islamic calendar’s final month.
Citizens are urged to look for the moon at sunset, it added.
The statement added that if the moon is sighted, citizens can submit their testimonies to the Supreme Court or local courts. It added that the announcement of the moon sighting will be made based on credible testimonies.

Astronomers expect the Dhu al-Hijjah moon to be sighted in Saudi Arabia today, with Eid ul Adha likely to fall on June 16 and the Day of Arafah on June 15.
This year, Saudi Arabia has made special arrangements for Hajj in anticipation of a record number of pilgrims from around the world. Measures include painting roads white in Arafat to reduce heat intensity.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene on Friday to observe the Dhu al-Hijjah moon.
