KARACHI – Pakistan will celebrate the Eidul Adha 2024 on Monday when Muslims will be slaughtering sacrificial animals to remember the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S).
A number of people slaughter the animals on their own or others hire Qasai or Butcher for this purpose. The rates of professional Qasai are comparatively higher than the seasonal butchers.
A survey conducted by Pakistani observer shows the professional Qasai rates ranges between Rs15,000 to 30,000 for cows.
The professional Qasai or butchers are demanding Rs20,000 to Rs30,000 for Qurbani of cow or bull, depending on the weight of the animal.
They are charging Rs5,000 to Rs7,000 for goat and sheep while rate of camel ranges between Rs35,000 to Rs40,000.
People have to hire the non-professional butchers due to unavailability of the professionals. There is significant difference in rates of non-professional Qasai. When asked, they said they are even charges only Rs10,000 to 14,000 for cow or bull, depending on the bargaining with customers.
They charge Rs3,000 to Rs4,000 for sheep or goat.
