LAHORE – Punjab government stays ahead of other governments in promoting solar energy as part of their efforts to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate changes, and now government aims to establish solar panel factories.
Minister for Industry and Commerce Shafay Hussain has affirmed strong commitment to promote the local manufacturing of solar panels in the region. During a meeting with a delegation from Chinese solar company, the minister discussed establishment of solar panel factories in Punjab – emphasizing the government’s keen interest in clean energy.
Minister also highlighted eagerness of Chinese companies to invest in Punjab’s solar energy sector and the government’s commitment to providing them with necessary support.
Pakistan also eyes to form long-term policy to encourage investment in solar energy sector, noting that Chinese companies have expressed their willingness to invest, making this an opportune time for solar energy investment in Punjab.
