PESHAWAR – Issuing a challan to politician in Pakistan lead to disciplinary action or even loss due to political pressure or influence, and this happened in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa where two traffic wardens were suspended.
CTO Peshawar suspended traffic wardens for issuing challan to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Sher Ali Afridi. The traffic cops fined Rs500 to Member of the Provincial Assembly MPA for violating traffic laws.
The lawmaker of Imran Khan’s party filed complaint with CTO about the incident, stating that his brother informed the wardens of his status as an MPA, but the wardens responded with inappropriate remarks.
Meanwhile, traffic police said wardens bore the brunt for misbehaving with the lawmaker.
Sher Ali Afridi hailed from PK-77, he won the general elections by securing 30,544 votes against JUI-P’s candidate Sifatullah.
