Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather update; rains, gusty winds predicted

PESHAWAR – Isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday evening/night, Thursday and Friday.

Per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weak moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating central parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave also prevails over upper parts.

Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan, Karam, Kirk, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday evening/night and the following two days. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38-40°C on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed over most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places of the province.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 46 per cent,

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 60 per cent.
