Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather update; rain, windstorm expected

PESHAWAR – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is likely in Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Tank, Waziristan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Balakot, Mansehra, Kohistan, Khyber, Peshawar, Bajaur and Kurram on Tuesday evening/night and Wednesday.

Peshawar’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Wednesday and 41-43°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 36 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 40 per cent.
