Passport fee in Saudi Riyal for Pakistanis from May 2024

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has decided that it will not issue passport to the overseas Pakistanis, who are living in foreign countries on asylum support.

The Ministry of Interior has issued a notification in this regard, directing the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport to not issue the travel documents to such Pakistan nationals, who sought asylum on political or other grounds in the foreign countries.

The ministry further said that the directorate will also cancel the passport of these overseas Pakistanis, who have already obtained it.

The decision aims at ensuring the security of the country.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports is the competent authority to issue passports to its bonafide citizens to facilitate their journey and provide them protection while travelling in foreign countries.

Accordingly, the holder of a valid Pakistan passport, when in a foreign country, is entitled to the protection of diplomatic and consular representative of Pakistan in that country.

Passport is the only document that confirms the identity of the citizen abroad of the Republic of Pakistan, as well as, realizes his/her right to exit from the country and entry into the country.
