No More Schools Bags for Islamabad students as govt announces new policy

ISLAMABAD – School bags are getting heavy for students, especially for young learners who have to carry lot of books, and other supplies.

To cut strain on juniors, the federal government is considering ways to reduce the weight of school bags. The government reportedly implemented a student-friendly no bag policy for primary schools in Islamabad, starting from August 1.

After the summer vacations, school going students will no longer need to carry school bags as they will be provided with storage cabinets in their classrooms for textbooks and other materials.

The initiative aims to reduce the burden on young students as the government is making arrangements in all primary schools to accommodate this change.

The government previously pushed ‘Lighter Bag Brighter Student’ initiative but despite initial success and positive feedback from parents, the policy was gradually discontinued.

The new initiative was enforces as parents are now urging ministry to reinstate the policy to promote a healthier educational experience for their children.
