Netflix has released a new official trailer for the upcoming crime mystery series “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” set to premiere on August 1, 2024. The series is adapted from Holly Jackson’s bestselling book and follows Pip Fitz-Amobi, played by Emma Myers (known for her role in “Wednesday”), as she investigates the five-year-old murder of schoolgirl Andie Bell. Despite the town’s belief that Andie was killed by her boyfriend Sal Singh, Pip is determined to uncover the truth and finds herself delving into the dark secrets of Little Kilton.
The series also features Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, Asha Banks, Raiko Gohara, Yali Topol Margolith, Jude Collie, and Zain Iqbal. The show is inspired by the real-life Adnan Syed case, drawing parallels to its complex investigation and the quest for justice.
“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” is a six-part series created by Poppy Cogan for the BBC, with writing contributions from Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas. Episodes are directed by Dolly Wells. The series is produced by Florence Walker and executive produced by Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures, Lucy Richer & Danielle Scott-Haughton for BBC, along with Dolly Wells, Holly Jackson, and Poppy Cogan. The series was filmed in and around Somerset, England.
The show will first premiere on BBC in the UK on July 1, 2024, before becoming available for streaming on Netflix in the US on August 1, 2024.
