NEPRA okays increase of Rs5.75 per unit

The National Electronic Power Regulatory Authority dropped another bombshell on the masses by according an approval to further increase of Rs5.75 per unit in the power tariff.
According to the NEPRA statement, the decision to increase the power tariff has been sent to federal government.

The NEPRA has announced an increase of around 20 percent in the uniform power tariff to generate Rs3.8 trillion in funds for 10 power distribution companies (discos) during the fiscal year 2024-25, amid Pakistan’s talks with the international Monetary Fund for a new bailout program.
