Journalist shot dead in Muzaffargarh


MUZAFFARGARH:

A journalist of an Urdu daily was shot dead by unidentified assailants near the Thermal Bypass.

According to a police spokesman, the reporter, Mehar Ashfaq Siyal, was critically wounded by the firing of the assailants riding motorcycles. He was shifted to the district hospital, where he succumbed to injuries.

The police stated that Ashfaq Siyal had been attacked a few minutes after leaving his home. The city police registered a case and claimed to have begun a search for the attackers. Local journalist bodies expressed grief over the killing and demanded that the police arrest the murderers at the earliest.
