Jane Fonda remembered her “brilliant” late co-star Donald Sutherland.
On Thursday, June 20, the 9 to 5 star took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt tribute for her Klute co star, who passed away earlier the same day at the age of 88.
“I am stunned to hear that Donald Sutherland has died,” she began in the caption. “He was my fascinating co-star in Klute, and we loved working together.”
Alongside the emotional note, Fonda, 86, posted a throwback picture featuring the two co-stars at the set of the 1971 hit film.
“In this photo, we are on the Klute set with director Alan Pakula,” she reminisced, adding, “Donald was a brilliant actor and a complex man who shared quite a few adventures with me.”
The Grace and Frankie alum went on to mention her ventures with the late Hunger Games star, “… FTA Show, an anti-Vietnam war tour that performed for 60,000 active-duty soldiers, sailors, and marines in Hawaii, Okinawa, the Philippines, and Japan in 1971.”
“I am heartbroken,” she described in the end. Additionally, the crime drama earned Fonda her first Best Actress Academy Award out of the two Oscars she bagged during her acting career.
