ISLAMABAD – More rains, gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over Pakistan’s upper and central parts. It will likely move eastwards during the next 12-18 hours.
Under these weather conditions, more rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, central/south Punjab, Pothohar region, northeast/south Balochistan and upper/central Sindh on Friday evening/night.
On Saturday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely at isolated places of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, central/south Punjab, northeast/south Balochistan and upper/central Sindh during evening/night. Gusty/dust-raising winds are likely in country’s plains during evening/night.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 38-40°C on Saturday and Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 38-40°C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in the twin cities and at isolated places in upper/central Sindh, Punjab, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, south Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu and Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 43°C, Sibbi, Tando Jam, Rohri, Shaheed Benazirabad and Bahawalpur at 42°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 32 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 22 per cent.
