Intermittent rains, gusty winds expected in Lahore, parts of Punjab

LAHORE – Intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Wednesday evening/night and the next two days.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate southern and central parts of Pakistan and likely to enter upper parts on Thursday evening/night.

Under these weather conditions, intermittent windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is expected in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Tala gang, Mianwali, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Sialkot, Lahore, Bahawalnagar and Dera Ghazi Khan on Wednesday evening/night and the next two days.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 42-44°C on Thursday and 41-43°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Bhakkar and Noorpur Thal remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. Maximum temperature in Kot Addu was recorded at 46°C, and Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Jhelum and Joharabad at 45°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 38 per cent.
