ICC to share champions’ trophy schedule with other boards next week

DUBAI- The International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to share the schedule of the Champions Trophy with other boards next week, the sources familiar with the development said on Saturday.

The sources said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent the Champions Trophy schedule to the ICC a few weeks ago. The ICC has reviewed the schedule in detail and has not made any changes to it.

The sources said that the ICC would now send the schedule for the Champions Trophy, which is set to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, to the other seven participating countries.

The mega event, hosted by Pakistan, would feature teams from Australia, England, India, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Afghanistan. Matches involving the Indian cricket team are scheduled to be held in Lahore, which would also host the final of the tournament.

The sources said that the PCB received positive signals regarding the Indian team’s participation in Pakistan.

India has not officially stated on any platform that they will not be coming to Pakistan while teams from other countries have already visited Pakistan for series.

The sources said that other countries are keen to hold the Champions Trophy in Pakistan as per the schedule. Due to the willingness of the other teams, it will become difficult for India to refuse participation at the last moment.
