Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is being accused of assaulting the mother of his child and injuring her before his arrest on Sunday.
According to recently emerged details from court documents, the incident occurred around 5:28 AM in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The woman reported that Buggs broke into her residence with a tire iron and then dragged her down a set of stairs, causing her to break several “clip-on toenails” and sustain “scratch marks” on her wrist, TMZ Sports reports.
Buggs allegedly fled the scene in a white Cadillac after she informed him she was calling the police. Authorities located Buggs and his vehicle in a nearby Little Caesars parking lot on Sunday morning, where he was subsequently arrested. He has been charged with domestic violence and burglary.
This marks Buggs’ second arrest in the past month; he was previously taken into custody in late May on animal cruelty charges. Buggs, who previously played for the Steelers and Lions, joined the Chiefs late last season and was expected to compete for a roster spot this year.
