Toronto Raptors All-Star forward Scottie Barnes intends to sign a five-year rookie max extension that will pay him up to $270 million, a deal that would make him the highest-paid player in franchise history, ESPN reported Monday.

The contract can’t become official until July 6. It will keep Barnes in Toronto through the 2029-30 season.

Barnes, 22, is coming off his first All-Star appearance after earning Rookie of the Year honours in 2021-22.
