In T20 World Cup Super 8 match against Australia, the skipper showcased his batting prowess, scoring 92 runs off just 41 balls against formidable bowlers like Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. His innings included eight sixes and seven fours, resulting in a remarkable strike rate of 224.39.
His exceptional performance not only pushed his side in T20 crucial match but also etched his name in history. The 37-year-old achieved two world records during this match. Firstly, he became the first player to hit over 200 sixes in T20Is. Secondly, he now holds the record for the most number of sixes against an opponent in all international cricket.
Rohit Sharma now holds the record for the most runs in T20I cricket, surpassing Babar Azam and Virat Kohli with 4165 runs to his name.
