Beyoncé recently revealed that her transition into country music was inspired by the success of Shaboozey and female country singers. In March, she released her first country album, ‘Cowboy Carter’, featuring tracks such as “Sweet Honey Buckin” and “Spaghettii,” the latter including a collaboration with singer Shaboozey.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Beyoncé discussed her motivations behind the genre shift. “When you are breaking down barriers, not everyone is ready and open for a shift,” she stated. “But when I see Shaboozey tearing the charts up and all the beautiful female country singers flying to new heights, inspiring the world, that is exactly what motivates me.”

Shaboozey also shared his thoughts with the outlet, expressing gratitude for the attention he has received following the release of ‘Cowboy Carter’, which has garnered over a billion streams on Spotify. “It’s been pretty great for her to put a lot of eyes on me at one time. Her being able to put a light on me at that time period helped my roll-out,” he explained. “She helped amplify what I was already doing in this space, and it’s really amazing (coming from) somebody that is really influential (and a) historic figure.”

He further commented on the impact of Beyoncé’s project on the genre’s reach. “It’s cool to see how far country music has reached since Beyoncé did her project. It’s cool to see the music reach all over the world.”

Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ marked a significant milestone, making her the first Black woman to top the Billboard Country Albums chart. The album also spotlighted several emerging artists, including Tiera Kennedy, Willie Jones, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, and Tanner Adell.
