Two tourists drown in Khanpur

HARIPUR:

Two tourists drowned in the Jab waterfall in Khanpur tehsil in Haripur district on Saturday, rescuers and police said.

17-year-old Waseem Shah of Darwish and 19-year-old Ahmed Raza of Swat were bathing and swimming in the famous waterfall of village Jab despite a ban under section 144 when they disappeared in the water.

After getting alerted, a team of Haripur Rescue 1122 reached the spot immediately, pulled out the victims with the help of locals after hectic efforts of several hours and shifted them to Type-D Hospital Khanpur where doctors confirmed their deaths.
