PPP ends budget session boycott day after talks with federal govt

ISLAMABAD – The day after talks with the federal government, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Saturday decided to withdraw its boycott of the budget session.

The sources said that the PPP did not make any decision on voting for the budget. However, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari directed all National Assembly members to ensure their attendance at the budget session.

After Bilawal Bhutto’s directive, the PPP members of the assembly attended the budget session.

The members of the negotiation committees met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday, who assured full implementation of the agreement made during formation of the government.

The negotiation committees from both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PPP are scheduled to meet again today.

The parties would draft a written agreement after reaching a consensus on all matters.
