Three Pakistan Army major generals promoted to Lt Gen rank

RAWALPINDI – Three Pakistan Army major generals have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, it emerged on Saturday.

Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, who is currently serving as Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General , Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain have been promoted.

Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Asim Munir has also appointed the newly promoted officers to their new posts.

Lt Gen Ahmed Shairf Chaudhry will continue to serve as DG ISPR while Lt Gen Omer Bukhari has been appointed as Commander 11 Corps (Peshawar) and Lt Gen Hussain as chief of logistics services (GHQ).

Lt Gen Bukhari was awarded the sword of honour in the 84 Long Course, whereas Lt Gen Hussain has received the presidential gold medal.
