Karachi commissioner bans bathing in sea for two months

KARACHI – The commissioner of Karachi has banned bathing, swimming and diving in the sea to avoid drowning incidents owing to monsoon spell and high tides in the Arabian Sea.

The ban also comes ahead of Eidul Adha 2024, which will be celebrated in Pakistan on June 17 (Monday). During Eid holidays, a larger number of people visit the sea along with their families.

The ban on bathing in sea will be applicable at Mubarak Village, Sunehra beach also known as French beach and others till August 13, 2024.

The commissioner has directed police to register cases against those who commit violation of the order.
