Chiefs' new Super Bowl rings feature $40K bling and an embarrassing typo

The Kansas City Chiefs’ third Super Bowl ring in five years may have a small but notable error.

According to the team’s official website, the 14.8-carat rings, each adorned with 529 diamonds and 38 rubies, cost approximately $40,000.

They feature a list of teams the Chiefs defeated on their way to their second consecutive title in February, including a supposed first-round win over the Miami Dolphins.

However, the Dolphins, listed as the No. 7 seed on the rings, were actually the No. 6 seed in the AFC.

ProFootballTalk confirmed this apparent typo, initially spotted on the team’s website, appears on at least one of the actual rings, suggesting it likely affects the entire batch.

The rings also open to reveal a diagram of the game-winning play “Tom and Jerry,” a personalised miniature field, and scores of playoff games, boasting about overcoming top-seeded opponents.
