Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Sheikh Rasheed acquitted in Azadi March case

ISLAMABAD  – District and Sessions Courts Islamabad have acquitted PTI founder Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid, and others in the case related to the vandalism during the Azadi March.

Judicial Magistrate Malik Muhammad Imran announced the reserved decision regarding the case registered at the I-9 police station concerning the Azadi March vandalism and rioting.

The court, in its reserved decision, acquitted PTI founder Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid, and Shah Mahmood Qureshi from the case. Sadaqat Abbasi, Ali Nawaz Awan, and other accused were also among those acquitted.

It may be mentioned here that a case was registered against the PTI leadership in 2022 under the charges of violating Section 144 and vandalism.

On behalf of PTI founder Imran Khan and others, Advocate Sardar Muhammad Masroor Khan, Advocate Ali Bukhari, Advocate Amna Ali and others presented arguments.
