With a seating capacity of approximately 6,000, ticket sales are a significant part of the World Cup’s revenue.
However, they are only a fraction of the total income, which also includes media rights, sponsorships, event hosting, merchandising, and other ticket sales.
The Indian diaspora in the United States has been instrumental in popularizing cricket on a large scale. Notable figures such as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen are among those investing nearly $1 billion in the new US professional league, Major League Cricket.
The league’s six teams are projected to invest around $75 million to $100 million over the next few years, which includes the construction of new stadiums.
