Pakistan urges UN-resolution based solution for Palestine

ISLAMABAD  –  The Foreign Office on Friday said that Pakistan seeks a resolution to the Palestine issue in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in a weekly news briefing that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is on a visit to China, accompanied by a high-level delegation. High-level meetings were held between China and Pakistan, during which detailed discussions on global and regional issues took place.

She said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with various investors in China and invited Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan during his visit to Shenzhen. The Prime Minister held meetings with various investors and companies in Shenzhen.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan has received the support of 182 members for permanent membership in the Security Council, and Pakistan would play a full role in the Security Council and continue to contribute to global prosperity.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that Pakistan condemns the aggression of Israeli forces in Palestine, desires a solution to the Palestine issue according to UN resolutions, and calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

She added that over 7,000 people have been martyred in occupied Kashmir over the past decade, and Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiri people until the Kashmir issue is resolved.

The Foreign Office further stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar would visit Istanbul to present Pakistan’s stance on the Gaza situation, and in Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar would meet with foreign ministers from various countries.
