T20 World Cup 2024: Australia beat Oman by 39 runs

BRIDGETOWN – Australia beat Oman by 39 runs in a group B match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Bridgetown.

Chasing 165-run target for the victory, Oman managed to score 125/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Ayaan Khan was the top scorer with 36 runs followed by Mehran Khan who made 27. Aqib Ilyas made 18 and Shakeel Ahmed 11 runs. Player of the match Marcus Stoinis bagged three wickets while Mitchell Starc, Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa took two wickets each.

Earlier, Australia made 164/5 in the allotted 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis was the highest scorer with 67 runs. David Warner made 56, skipper Mitchell Marsh 14 and Travis Head 12 runs. Mehran Khan took two wickets and Bilal khan and Kaleemullah one each.
