Passport delivery time for overseas Pakistanis in normal, urgent categories changed

LONDON – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a major relief for overseas Pakistanis applying for passport renewal in normal and urgent categories in UAE, Saudi Arabi, UK and other countries.

During his visit to Passport and NADRA offices in London, the minister announced reducing the passport delivery time for overseas Pakistanis.

Currently, the issuance of passport in urgent category takes around two months while normal passports are delivered in 4 to 5 months.

The minister learnt about the ordeal being faced by the overseas Pakistanis during his London visit where he announced that normal passports will be issued within 30 days while urgent passport will take only seven days.

Naqvi said no delay will be tolerated in the issuances of passports, adding that the new instructions will be applicable to all Pakistani missions.

He also setup a monitoring cell to ensure delivery of passports within time. It will be overviewed by Personal Staff Officer to the Interior Minister, ASP Shahrbano.

Overseas Pakistanis can lodge complaints at email address: passport@interior.gov.pk if they do not receive their passport within time.
