IG reviews law and order, directs enhanced security ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

 

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a crucial meeting at the Central Police Office in Karachi to review the current law and order situation in the city. The session was attended by senior police officials, including Additional IG Karachi, zonal DIGs, and officers from various units and the

investigation wing. The meeting, focused on assessing the current security landscape of Karachi. Detailed briefings were provided by zonal DIGs and the CIA on the status and effectiveness of police actions. IG Sindh praised the Karachi Police’s efforts under the leadership of Additional IG Karachi, acknowledging the significant reduction in crime rates, a sentiment echoed by the city’s residents.

Emphasizing the need to continue robust police measures against crime, IG Sindh outlined the importance of maintaining momentum in law enforcement activities. With Eid-ul-Adha approaching, IG Sindh instructed that livestock markets, bazaars, highways, and neighborhoods be secured. He directed officers to deploy additional personnel in these areas and prepare comprehensive security plans. IG Sindh urged all officers to be visibly active in the field alongside their teams during Eid, ensuring public safety and effective oversight.

Ensuring enhanced security, IG Sindh called for the deployment of additional personnel in police stations and on the streets, particularly supporting the operations of the Madadgar 15 unit. He emphasized the importance of sustained, organized police actions against criminals, using modern techniques to arrest wanted and fugitive offenders.

IG Sindh directed the Special Branch to assist district police in arresting individuals involved in crimes and ensuring security during Eid. Officers displaying exemplary performance will be awarded commendation certificates, encouraging diligent efforts in law enforcement. The IG stressed the need for systematic identification parades in investigations and the creation of a centralized database for investigative reports.
